Abstract
A boarding house is a type of small-scale business providing rental rooms for people who need temporary accommodation. In Bandar Lampung, particularly around campuses and schools, many boarding houses are available, but most searches are still done manually, which makes it difficult for students to find suitable accommodation. This study aims to design a web-based information system that facilitates online searching and booking of boarding houses, as well as helps owners promote their properties more efficiently. The system was developed using Notepad++ software with a MySQL database and employed the Extreme Programming method, which enables adaptive and fast development. The design process used UML diagrams, including use case, activity, sequence, and class diagrams. Data collection methods included observation, interviews, and literature review involving both tenants and boarding house owners. The findings show that the proposed system can display boarding house information quickly, simplify the booking process, and assist owners in managing and marketing their boarding houses effectively.
